Thiruvananthapuram: The intensity of rainfall in Keralam has eased following the heavy downpour that affected the state over the past few days. The India Meteorological Department has said that no district-specific rain alerts have been issued for today or tomorrow, although isolated areas may continue to receive light rainfall.
People have been advised to remain cautious as wind speeds could reach up to 50 kmph in some areas. The fishing ban remains in force along the Keralam, Karnataka and Lakshadweep coasts.
The state had witnessed widespread heavy rainfall in recent days, resulting in significant damage in several regions. Flooding and landslides disrupted normal life and caused considerable difficulties for residents in affected areas.
The weakening of the rain is expected to provide temporary relief to people in the affected regions, even as authorities continue to monitor weather conditions and the situation in areas that suffered damage.
