UDF Government Assign Additional Charges to IAS Officers B Ashok and N Prashant

Thiruvananthapuram: The government has issued orders assigning additional charge to IAS officers B Ashok and N Prashant. B Ashok, Principal Secretary of the Higher Education Department, has been given additional charge as Principal Secretary of the General Administration Department and the Administrative Reforms Department. N Prashant, Special Secretary of the Sports and Youth Affairs Department, has been given additional charge as Special Secretary of the Taxes Department.

Both assignments are to departments handled by Chief Minister V D Satheesan. B Biju, who had been holding additional charge of the General Administration Department, and TV Anupama, who had been holding additional charge of the Administrative Reforms Department, have been relieved of those responsibilities. K R Jyothilal will continue to hold the additional charge of Additional Chief Secretary of the Taxes Department.

Both officers had faced disciplinary action during the previous LDF government's tenure. N Prashant had been penalised in connection with his criticism of government actions and the Chief Secretary, while B Ashok had also faced action. Following their reinstatement to service, both were assigned new responsibilities in June — and they have now been given additional charge of key departments once again.
