CM Pinarayi Vijayan Highlights Kerala Diaspora’s Role at 5th Loka Kerala Sabha; An Unmatched Platform Connecting NRIs With Their Homeland, Says CM

Thiruvananthapuram: While inaugurating the 5th World Kerala Assembly (Loka Kerala Sabha), Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan emphasized the significance of the diaspora community and the continuing relevance of the Assembly. Describing the occasion as an evening full of joy and satisfaction, he said that the Assembly has today become a global platform for Malayalis abroad.

The Chief Minister noted that there are numerous Malayali talents across the world excelling in various fields. These diaspora members not only understand the pulse of their homeland but also actively contribute to Kerala’s development. However, until now, there was no formal platform for them to share their expertise and opinions for the benefit of the state. The idea of the World Kerala Assembly was born in 2018 from a long-term vision of how to harness the skills and cooperation of these talents for Kerala’s growth.

Initially, the initiative faced skepticism, with many questioning whether it would succeed. However, as the Assembly reaches its fifth session, all doubts have been convincingly addressed, he said. Today, the Assembly serves as a model for the world, providing diaspora members a direct avenue to express their views on the state and actively participate in its development. The Chief Minister added that the World Kerala Assembly has enabled a direct link between the Kerala diaspora and the governance of Kerala.
