Kasaragod DFO Removed from Post After Misconduct Complaint by Woman

Kasaragod: Kasaragod Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Jose Mathew has been removed from his post following a complaint alleging that he behaved inappropriately towards a woman passenger during a train journey. He has also been directed to report to the Forest Department headquarters. The government action came after the Railway Police registered a case in connection with the incident. The authorities reportedly assessed that it would not be appropriate for Jose Mathew to continue as DFO while the investigation is being conducted with Kasaragod as its focus. Rajeevan given additional charge Rajeevan M, Assistant Forest Conservator of Kannur Social Forestry, has been given additional charge of the Kasaragod DFO post. The government approved the order issued by the Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Administration) on August 24 as an emergency measure.
