Election Ahead to Decide the Continuation of Kerala's Development: Chief Minister

Malappuram: Kerala's upcoming election will determine whether the developmental strides the state has made should be further strengthened or whether a break is needed, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. He was speaking at a press conference during the election campaign in Tirur, Malappuram. He emphasised that this is not just a political issue but a decisive step towards ensuring holistic development and social justice for Kerala.
The changes Kerala has achieved over the last decade are the result of the long-term vision of the LDF government’s policies. The government’s approach of implementing timely declarations has been key. The state has moved into a new economic phase, with significant improvements in infrastructure development, including national highways, ports, IT, and industrial sectors, leaving behind the stagnation of the past. This is evident not only in statistics but also in the lives of the people.
Development does not progress at the cost of people’s welfare, the Chief Minister said. Through public education, public healthcare, and social security schemes, the government has ensured security for all sections of society. Kerala has demonstrated to the world that development and welfare are complementary. Today, Kerala is a state friendly to investments, and the youth are transitioning to a phase where global opportunities are created within their own state. New technologies and startup possibilities are part of this shift. The government is intervening in ways that support the dreams of the youth.
The coming years hold more potential for Kerala, and in order to maintain this momentum, continuity in developmental activities and stability in governance are crucial. The Chief Minister added that the continuation of the LDF government is key to completing long-term projects.
