E K Krishnan Nair, First News Editor of Doordarshan Malayalam, Passes Away at 97

Thiruvananthapuram: E K Krishnan Nair (97), the first news editor of Doordarshan Malayalam, passed away on Tuesday night in Thiruvananthapuram. He had graduated from SB College, Changanacherry, and served as a teacher at schools in Kainakary and Alappuzha Thiruvambaadi during the 1950s.

He subsequently joined the Central Government service, working in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting across the departments of Field Publicity, All India Radio and Doordarshan. He retired as News Director of Doordarshan Thiruvananthapuram. The body is currently at his residence in Kaithammukku, Thiruvananthapuram. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
