Thiruvananthapuram: For only the second time in Kerala Legislative Assembly history, an all-woman panel of chairpersons will oversee House proceedings in the absence of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker.
Speaker A N Shamseer announced on Thursday that Shantakumari K and O S Ambika of CPI M, along with Uma Thomas of the Congress, will form the three-member panel during the 16th session of the 15th Assembly.
The first all-woman panel was appointed in December 2022 during the seventh session. It included Asha C K from CPI, U Prathibha from CPI(M), and K K Rema of the Revolutionary Marxist Party of India, an ally of the UDF.
