Trump Threatens to 'Finish Iran in One Night' as Tehran Rejects Hormuz Ultimatum

US President Donald Trump
Washington DC: US President Donald Trump has escalated his warnings against Iran after Tehran rejected his ultimatum to fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz, declaring that Iran could be finished in a single night and that the night in question could perhaps be tomorrow.
Trump had threatened to destroy Iran's critical infrastructure — including power plants and bridges — if the Strait of Hormuz was not reopened by Tuesday. The deadline has since been extended to 5.30 am Indian Standard Time on Wednesday. Trump warned that all bridges in Iran would be eliminated if an agreement was not reached before that deadline.
Meanwhile, Iran has also rejected a draft proposal put forward by mediating countries for a 45-day temporary ceasefire in West Asia and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, reiterating its position that any agreement must bring about a permanent end to the war rather than a temporary pause. Trump, for his part, has also not fully accepted the mediators' proposal, leaving the diplomatic process at an impasse as the extended deadline looms.
