Thiruvananthapuram: Journeys through forests are often journeys into the self — quiet, transformative odysseys where the soul listens more keenly. Along the dense, untamed corridor between Munnar and Kodaikanal lies a hidden wilderness, a realm of profound beauty few have set eyes upon. Though the route remains closed to travelers today, its spirit breathes vividly through the pages of Munnar-Kodaikkanal Kaananappaathakalil, the latest offering from renowned wildlife photographer, writer, and martial artist, N. A. Naseer.
The book was unveiled at a gathering held on Saturday at the Press Club, Thiruvananthapuram, in the presence of Kerala Forest Department officials, forest lovers, members of the media, and devoted admirers of Naseer's work. Through his lens and pen, Naseer invites readers into the deep green silence of forgotten paths, offering not just a journey through forests, but a journey into the forgotten chambers of the human spirit.

With nearly four decades of experience exploring Kerala’s forests, N. A. Naseer has long been a familiar voice introducing the state's wilderness to its people. Beginning his journey barefoot and without a digital camera, Naseer’s passion for the forest ecosystem has only deepened over the years, culminating in this latest work.
He once journeyed through the forest route between Munnar and Kodaikanal, long ago. Through vivid storytelling, he invites readers to experience a world where the boundaries between humans and nature dissolve, emphasizing the insight that humanity is but one part of a larger, interconnected system.
The launch was attended by several distinguished guests, including Shri Pramod G. Krishnan IFS (Chief Wildlife Warden and Chief Conservator of Forests), Rev. Dr. Mothy Varkey, Dr. Sandhya J. Nair (Assistant Professor, University College Thiruvananthapuram), Indian footballer C. K. Vineeth, and other nature lovers.
The event celebrated not just the release of a book but also a lifelong commitment to fostering a deeper understanding and love for the forests of Kerala.
