Senior CPI(M) Leader Samineni Rama Rao Killed in Telangana

Khammam: A senior CPI(M) leader, Samineni Rama Rao, was brutally murdered by a gang linked to the Congress party in Telangana. The incident took place at his residence in Pattarlapadu village, Madhira constituency, Khammam district. Rama Rao, 70, was the State General Secretary of Telangana Rythu Sangam and had served as the Sarpanch of Pattarlapadu village for more than 30 years.
The CPI(M) leadership alleged that the murder was carried out by a Congress-affiliated gang fearing defeat in the local elections. Police have initiated an investigation into three individuals suspected to be involved in the attack. In the early hours of Friday, the assailants entered Rama Rao’s home in Chintakani mandal, stabbed him multiple times, and slit his throat, killing him on the spot.
News of the murder prompted a large number of CPI(M) workers from across the district to converge in the village, resulting in violent clashes. Police officials, led by Commissioner Sunil Datt, reached the site and collected evidence.
CPI(M) leaders strongly condemned the murder. State Secretary John Wesley, Central Committee member Tamineni Veerabhadra Rao, and Secretariat member Pothineni Sudarshan Rao demanded the immediate arrest of the perpetrators and called for the exposure of the political conspiracy behind Rama Rao’s killing.
