Sabarimala: Kerala-style sadya will be served to devotees at Sabarimala as part of the annadanam programme starting Tuesday, December 2, Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) President K. Jayakumar announced. The sadya will include seven dishes: rice, dal, sambar, aviyal, pickle, thoran, pappadam, and payasam. The variety of payasam served will change each day.

The meals will be provided between 12 PM and 3 PM, using steel plates and steel tumblers. Currently, around 4,000 devotees take part in annadanam daily, and the number is expected to rise once sadya is introduced, Jayakumar said.

He added that the initiative reflects a new approach in welcoming devotees. “We want every devotee who reaches Sabarimala to feel respected and cared for. We hope this spirit will be reflected in all other aspects of Sabarimala as well,” he stated.

Jayakumar also noted that two weeks into the Mandala pilgrimage season, the movement of devotees and the overall management of the pilgrimage remain smooth and well-coordinated.
