Bus Carrying Sabarimala Pilgrims Overturns in Kasaragod, One Dead
Kasaragod: A bus carrying Sabarimala pilgrims from Karnataka overturned at Katamkavala in Kasaragod on Saturday, resulting in one death and multiple injuries. The pilgrims had completed their visit to Sabarimala and were returning to Bengaluru when the accident occurred. There were 56 passengers on board, all from Mysuru district.
The bus lost control around 2:30 pm on the Hill Highway at the Mattappally bend, veering off the road and plunging nearly 30 feet down a slope. The vehicle sustained partial structural damage due to the impact. According to preliminary reports, three pilgrims are critically injured, while several others suffered varying degrees of injuries.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene, and all injured passengers have been taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
