Kerala to Inaugurate 27 Renovated Smart Village Offices on February 16

Thiruvananthapuram: The state-level inauguration of 27 newly renovated smart village offices, equipped with modern facilities to enhance public service, will take place on February 16 at 4.30 pm. The ceremony will be presided over by Revenue and Housing Minister K Rajan.


The event will be held at the Vattiyoorkavu Village Office in Thiruvananthapuram, where MLA VK Prashanth will also be present. During the ceremony, Minister Rajan will inaugurate the mini revenue tower, which was built with the special development fund allocated by the MLA. Other dignitaries including Mayor VV Rajesh, Shashi Tharoor MP, Revenue Department Secretary MG Rajamanickam, Land Revenue Commissioner Jeevan Babu K., District Collector Anukumari, and various public representatives will also attend the event. Respective MLAs will oversee similar ceremonies in their respective assembly constituencies.


As of now, 595 out of 885 villages in Kerala have received administrative approval to become smart villages, with 117 more under various stages of construction. Of these, 27 smart villages have been fully completed. The project work is ongoing in the remaining 173 villages.


Authorities emphasize that the goal of the smart village initiative is to streamline public services, ensuring faster and more transparent service to the people.
