Sabarimala: The flow of pilgrims to the Sabarimala Sannidhanam remains strong. Up to Tuesday, a total of 8,48,085 devotees have had darshan during this pilgrimage season. According to official estimates, 88,987 pilgrims reached Sannidhanam by 6 PM on Tuesday, while 1,17,369 arrived on Monday. The rush continues today as well.

Despite the heavy influx of devotees, the arrangements made by the government and the Devaswom Board ensured a smooth darshan experience. From early morning, all queues in the Nadappanthal were filled, yet pilgrims did not face long delays. The queue complexes are being utilized to maximum capacity to regulate the crowd efficiently. Except at Nilakkal, pilgrims are not stopped at any other point.

In view of Monday’s rush, the spot booking limit was again capped at 5,000. Those arriving for spot booking are first organized at Nilakkal before being permitted to proceed to Pampa.

New Police Batch Takes Charge

A new batch of police personnel has assumed duty at Sabarimala. The second batch includes 1,543 officers, comprising Assistant Special Officers (ASO), 10 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DySP), and 34 Circle Inspectors (CI). During a ceremony held at the large Nadappanthal near the Sannidhanam, Special Officer M. L. Sunil issued operational instructions to the force.

He emphasized that heavy crowds could develop at any time and advised the personnel to remain vigilant throughout. ASOs J. K. Dinil Kumar, S. Ajay Kumar, and other officers were present during the briefing. Each police batch will serve for a period of ten days.
