7.5 Lakh Pilgrims Visit Sabarimala Within First Nine Days

Sabarimala: The inflow of pilgrims to Sabarimala continues unabated, with over one lakh devotees visiting the shrine on Monday alone. The total number of pilgrims who have arrived for darshan this season has now crossed seven lakh.
On Monday, 1,18,886 pilgrims had darshan at Sannidhanam. The rush continued on Tuesday as well. In the first nine days of the Mandala season, around 7.5 lakh devotees have completed darshan. Due to the increasing crowd, the number of spot booking slots available for Tuesday was limited to 5,000. The slot allocation will continue to be adjusted based on real-time crowd assessment.
The Devaswom Board and the police are jointly monitoring the pilgrim flow to determine the permissible number of spot bookings at various time intervals. On Monday, 17,516 devotees had darshan through spot booking. Officials said that all necessary arrangements have been put in place at Sabarimala and supporting centres to ensure smooth and safe darshan even during peak inflow.
Meanwhile, the Board has decided to introduce spot booking through Erumeli as well.
