LDF Gains Momentum with 13 Unopposed Wins Ahead of Local Body Elections

Thiruvananthapuram: With just two weeks left for the local body elections, the Left Democratic Front (LDF) is moving forward with renewed enthusiasm after securing unopposed victories in 13 wards. The current campaign landscape indicates that the LDF expects to repeat its success this time as well.
The front completed all election preparations well in advance. Candidates considered most suitable for each ward have been finalized, placing the LDF ahead in its campaign efforts. Candidates were selected based on public preference and their proven ability to work wholeheartedly for local development.
The list includes youth, women, senior citizens, professionals, and retired individuals who can utilize their experience for community development. It also features ASHA workers, MGNREGA workers, members of Haritha Karma Sena, Kudumbashree, and other grassroots workers familiar with the needs and pulse of the community.
LDF states that its primary goal is to utilize the powers of local governments effectively to expand welfare and development across regions. The unopposed victories of 13 candidates in Kannur and Kasargod have boosted the front’s confidence. Panchayat and municipality candidates have completed the first phase of house-to-house campaigning, along with conventions in all wards and booths. The campaign is now moving into family meetings and public outreach programs.
The LDF claims its strength lies in the performance of the state government in the past nine-and-a-half years. According to the front, development and welfare initiatives have reached every household. The creation of a “poverty-free Kerala” in coordination with local bodies, clearing arrears in welfare pensions, and increasing pensions to rupees 2,000 have become key talking points in the campaign.
