New Delhi: Amid escalating tensions in West Asia, Narendra Modi held a phone conversation with Donald Trump to discuss the situation.

Both leaders emphasized the critical importance of keeping the Strait of Hormuz open, a key global oil supply route. Modi stated via social media that restoring peace and de-escalating the conflict in the region is essential, adding that India supports efforts by the United States in this regard. He also emphasized that ensuring the safe and uninterrupted functioning of the strait is vital for global economic stability.

The United States has reportedly decided to temporarily halt attacks against Iran and has engaged in peace discussions, granting a five-day window to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

However, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of Iran’s Parliament, denied that any talks had taken place with the US, contradicting the American claim.
