Thiruvananthapuram: With an unwavering focus on the health and well- being of its women, Kerala is emerging as a role model for the entire nation. Health Minister Veena George inaugurated state -level women’s clinics at the Pallithura Public Health Center in Thiruvananthapuram, calling them a “dedicated commitment to the women of the state.”
“Women’s health is the backbone of strong families and thriving communities,” said the minister. “No physical challenge should be overlooked, and health must always be a priority in life. Regular checkups every six months are essential.”
The initiative reflects Kerala’s broader people- centric governance approach, emphasising accessible, preventive, and holistic healthcare. Public health centers across the state are being strengthened to provide specialised services for women, operating weekly to ensure continuous care. Through these clinics, the state not only aims to prevent diseases but also to nurture a healthy body and mind, with trained staff providing critical services such as cancer screening and lifestyle monitoring.

As part of cancer screening, approximately 1.85 million people were tested, detecting 235 cases of breast cancer, 71 cases of cervical cancer, and 35 cases of oral cancer. Early detection ensures timely and affordable treatment, strengthening Kerala’s reputation as the state with the longest life expectancy and highest quality of life in the country.
