Infant Dies During Circumcision at Private Clinic in Kerala, Case Registered

Kozhikode: A two- month- old infant died during a circumcision procedure at a private clinic in Kakkoor, near Feroke, on Sunday, police said.

The deceased, Emil Adam, was the son of a couple from Feroke. The family had taken the child to the clinic for *sunnath*, the traditional circumcision procedure, when the infant reportedly developed uneasiness.

"He became unwell at the clinic and was immediately shifted to another hospital. However, doctors declared him dead while under treatment," police officials said.

A case has been registered based on a complaint filed by the child's maternal grandfather. Further investigation is underway.
