London: SFI UK will host an online informational session on fully funded STEM PhD opportunities in the UK for prospective doctoral applicants from around the world.

The session will be held on 24 January 2026 at 12:30 PM GMT (6:00 PM IST) and will be delivered by Alakta Das, Darwin Trust Fellow at the School of Biological Sciences, University of Edinburgh.

The initiative aims to address persistent information gaps and structural inequalities in the global research landscape, where funding and access to advanced research environments remain disproportionately concentrated in the Global North. Through targeted outreach and transparent guidance,SFI UK seeks to ensure that international students, across diverse backgrounds, have equitable opportunities to participate in global science, research, and innovation.

The session will provide an overview of major scholarships and funding pathways for STEM PhDs in the UK, with particular focus on schemes open to international students worldwide. It will also outline the practical steps required to secure fully funded doctoral positions.

Designed for students who aspire to pursue higher education abroad, the workshop will offer insights into eligibility criteria, application strategies, and profile-building, helping participants better navigate fully funded pathways to world-class research environments and international academic and research careers.

The online session, titled “Scholarships for PhD in STEM in the UK”, is open for registration via Zoom at [https://ed-ac-uk.zoom.us/meeting/register/yPL50fhKTuSotdWEl1Ei6Q].
