New Delhi: Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) authorities have threatened disciplinary action, including possible expulsion, against student union leaders who organised a protest on the anniversary of the ABVP’s attack. The warning specifically targets the Student Union’s Vice President, Malayali student Gopika Babu, among others.

The protest, held near Sabarmati Hostel at 5 pm, allegedly involved students chanting provocative slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. The university stated that an internal inquiry has been initiated and that disciplinary measures, including suspension, expulsion, and other restrictions, may be imposed on those found responsible.

The Student Union, however, condemned the allegations, describing them as defamatory propaganda by JNU authorities aligned with the ABVP’s political agenda. Following the incident, the police have registered an FIR against ninety individuals, including Gopika Babu.
