Ahmedabad: In the T20 World Cup Super 8 round, South Africa defeated India by a huge margin of 76 runs. Chasing a target of 188 runs, India were bowled out for 111 runs in 18.5 overs. The accurate bowling of Marco Jansen and spinner Keshav Maharaj, along with a half-century from David Miller, proved to be the catalysts for India's downfall. Jansen took 4 wickets, while Maharaj claimed 3 wickets. Shivam Dube, who scored 42 runs off 37 balls, and Jasprit Bumrah, who took 3 wickets, were the only ones who fought back.

South Africa, who won the toss and chose to bat, had a poor start. At 20 for 3, the Proteas were rescued by Devald Brevis and David Miller. Miller scored 65 off 35 balls, while Brevis contributed 45 off 29 balls, guiding South Africa to a decent total. However, with both of them getting out, the run flow slowed down. In the final overs, Indian bowlers tightened the screws, and South Africa's innings ended at 187 for 7.
