Pakistan Enters Super 8 After Defeating Namibia

Colombo: Pakistan has entered the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup after defeating Namibia by 102 runs. Namibia, who had set a target of 200 runs, could only manage 97 runs. The strength of the Pakistan team was opener Sahibzada Farhan, who scored an unbeaten 100 runs. Pakistan finished their innings at 199/3.


Pakistan chose to bat after winning the toss. Farhan’s innings, in which he scored an unbeaten 100 off 58 balls, gave his team a strong total. He reached his century by hitting four sixes and eleven fours. Captain Salman Ali Agha (38 runs off 23 balls) and Shadab Khan (36 runs off 22 balls) provided excellent support.


Namibia, chasing a huge score, lost their first wicket at 32 runs. Wickets then fell frequently, and the innings ended at 97 runs. Only openers Lauren Steincamp (23 runs off 22 balls) and Alexander Volkesh (20 runs off 20 balls) put up a fight. For Pakistan, Usman Tariq took 4 wickets, while Shadab Khan claimed 3 wickets.


The teams that reached the Super 8 stage are India, Sri Lanka, West Indies, England, South Africa, Zimbabwe, New Zealand, and Pakistan. India’s first match in the Super 8 will be against South Africa on February 22. They will then play Zimbabwe on February 26 and West Indies on March 1.
