Gorakhpur: Yogi Adityanath criticised the Government of Delhi over the severe air pollution in the national capital. He said that Delhi has become a gas chamber and that life there has become difficult. He made these remarks while addressing a function in Gorakhpur, referring to the BJP-led Delhi government.

Yogi said that doctors have advised asthma patients, elderly people, and children not to step outside. He questioned what kind of life people are living there. He argued that despite development, the environment in Uttar Pradesh remains clean and that people there do not feel suffocated.

However, his remarks have drawn criticism, as they come at a time when children in Uttar Pradesh died due to suffocation amid a lack of adequate hospital facilities and oxygen cylinders.

In Delhi on Saturday, the Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 211, which falls under the “poor” category. He made these statements amid allegations that the BJP government has failed to control air pollution in Delhi. The opposition responded by saying that one’s own state should be set in order before questioning the affairs of another state.
