Vijay Cancels TVK Road Shows After Police Deny Adequate Time Slots

Chennai: Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay has called off major road shows planned in Chennai after police granted only one-hour permission slots instead of the time requested by the party. The curtailed schedule made it impractical to conduct the events as planned, party sources said.

Vijay had been scheduled to campaign today in the T Nagar and Villivakkam constituencies in Chennai. However, with police restricting permission to just one hour per venue, the party decided to abandon the programs rather than proceed with an inadequate window. Vijay has already held road shows in Tiruchirappalli and Puducherry.

The denial of adequate time slots while other political parties continue to campaign actively has triggered discontent among TVK workers. The party has said it will release a revised campaign schedule for the coming days shortly.
