Uttar Pradesh: Umpire Dies in Cricket Match Due to Bee Attack

Lucknow: An umpire tragically in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, after being attacked by honey bees during a cricket match. The incident involved umpire Manik Gupta from the Kanpur cricket circuit. It occurred during the Kanpur Cricket Association’s Under-13 tournament.

After the first match concluded around 1:30 PM, he went to see his co-umpire during the drinks break. Suddenly, a swarm of bees attacked. While trying to escape, he lost his balance and fell, after which the bees attacked him.

In addition to him, 12 others were also stung by the bees. Despite being severely attacked, Even though Manik was immediately taken to the hospital, he passed away. He had been working as an umpire for 30 years and was a native of Kanpur’s Feelkhana area.
