Jammu and Kashmir: Just a day after the devastating terror attack in Pahalgam, security forces in Jammu and Kashmir foiled an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in Baramulla district, killing two terrorists. According to officials, the incident occurred on Wednesday in the Uri Nala area of north Kashmir. In a statement on social media platform X, the Indian Army’s Chinar Corps said that around 2–3 unidentified terrorists attempted to infiltrate through the Sarjeevan area along the LoC in Uri.

Troops stationed in the region challenged the infiltrators, sparking a heavy exchange of gunfire. “On 23 April 2025, an infiltration bid was foiled by alert troops in the general area of Sarjeevan, Uri Nala, Baramulla. Two terrorists have been eliminated,” the Chinar Corps confirmed. The army also reported the recovery of a large cache of weapons, ammunition, and other war-like stores from the site. The operation is still ongoing as security forces continue to sanitize the area.

This infiltration attempt came less than 24 hours after a brutal terror attack in Pahalgam, Anantnag, where 26 civilians—mostly tourists—lost their lives. Security has since been heightened across Jammu and Kashmir in response to the escalating threat.
