Terror Attack Plot in Delhi: Eight People Arrested

New Delhi: Eight people have been arrested in connection with a terror attack plot in Delhi. Six of them were apprehended in Tamil Nadu. Some among the arrested are Bangladeshi citizens. Authorities say they were acting on instructions from Pakistan’s ISI and Bangladesh-based terrorist organisations.
Among those captured, many mobile phones and SIM cards were recovered. Investigators are examining these devices to determine their foreign connections. The operation was carried out jointly by the Delhi Police and central intelligence agencies.
The intelligence report indicated a potential terrorist attack targeting India’s major religious sites and the Red Fort. Intelligence agencies had warned that an IED explosion was being planned. Lashkar-e-Taiba is believed to have planned the attack as revenge for the Bobb blast at a mosque in Islamabad.
In the wake of the car bomb explosion near Chenkotta on November 10, 2025, which killed thirteen people, heavy security precautions have been implemented in Delhi.
