Hyderabad: A 28-year-old man accused in a POCSO case killed six people, including the teenage complainant, in Telangana's Ranga Reddy district on Friday night before fleeing, police said.

The accused, identified as Raj Kumar, murdered the 17-year-old victim in the POCSO case, her mother and grandmother in Shahbad mandal. According to a report by The New Indian Express he first killed the girl's mother and grandmother at their residence before taking the teenager to an isolated location, where he murdered her.

It is believed that Raj Kumar then returned to his own house and killed his wife, Saritha, and their two young sons — Parikshith (3) and Dhaivikshith (2).

According to reports, after the killings, the accused allegedly called his parents and informed them that he had killed his family before fleeing the scene.

On receiving information, Future City Commissioner Tarun Joshi, Chevella Deputy Commissioner of Police Yogesh Gautam and other senior officials rushed to the spot. Forensic teams examined the crime scenes and collected evidence, before shifting the bodies for postmortem examination.

Police have launched a search to trace the accused, and further investigation is underway.
