Six-Year-Old 'Gen Alpha' Protester Steals Spotlight at Bihar Student Protest

Patna: Six-year-old Aditya Kumar has drawn nationwide attention after participating in protests in Patna over alleged irregularities in the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) examinations and delays in recruitment. The Class 1 student, who spoke fearlessly to the police and media, has become a sensation on social media.

Aditya joined the protest at Dak Bungalow Chowk in Patna along with his parents. Speaking through a microphone at the protest venue, he raised concerns about unemployment and criticised government policies.

“I have come to wipe out corrupt governance. I am speaking now so that when I grow up, the education sector will be free from corruption. If the police resort to a lathi charge, I will be at the forefront. If all of us are arrested, I will happily go to jail too,” Aditya said. His speech received widespread attention across the country, and the video was widely circulated on social media.

The detention of the child by the police subsequently triggered strong protests. CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke said that even a child was being detained by the police for raising slogans. Several people also questioned on social media why a six-year-old was removed from the protest merely for holding a poster and whether the government was even afraid of a Class 1 student.

Visuals of police officials taking the child into custody have surfaced. The police, however, said he was taken to the station keeping his safety in mind and was later handed over to his mother.
