V S Achuthanandan, K T Thomas Awarded Padma Vibhushan; Mammootty Among Padma Bhushan Recipients

New Delhi: Kerala has earned a moment of pride in the Padma Awards announced in connection with the 77th Republic Day. Late Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan and former Supreme Court Justice K T Thomas, along with Journalsit P Narayanan have been conferred with the Padma Vibhushan, the second-highest civilian honour in India. The award for V S Achuthanandan has been given posthumously.


P Narayanan received the award in the literature category. Megastar Mammootty and SNDP Yogam General Secretary Vellapally Natesan have also been selected for the Padma Bhushan.


The recognition of these prominent personalities from Kerala reflects their unparalleled contributions across diverse fields, honouring them at the national level.
