Three Bodies of Nepal Flood Victims Discovered from UP's Kushinagar; Authorities Confirm

Kathmandu: Authorities have confirmed that three bodies were recovered from the Gandak river in Uttar Pradesh's Kushinagar District. According to reports, the bodies apparently drifted into Indian territory during strong currents following the floods in Nepal.

As per reports, the bodies were found near the barrage pier number 3 in the Madanpur-Sukrauli area of Khadda on Friday. Efforts have started to establish the identity of the deceased.

The devastating flood struck Nepal on wednesday morning after an Ice-rock avalanche caused a flash flood, sending a torrent of water, ice and debris down the Bhote Koshi river basin, tearing through villages in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading and Gorkha districts and severing roads and bridges.

The disaster has so far claimed 626 lives, while over 2000 still remain unaccounted for. Meanwhile, the NDRRMA said the river's water level, carrying mud and debris, has increased, raising the risk of another flood.
