Bhopal: The Election Commission has announced that all three BJP candidates have been elected unopposed in the Rajya Sabha election for Madhya Pradesh.

The elected BJP candidates are Rajneesh Agarwal, Tarun Chugh, and Mahesh Kevat.

The Returning Officer stated that the three BJP candidates were declared elected after the deadline for withdrawing nominations ended and no other candidates remained in the fray. The winning candidates also received their election certificates.

The BJP secured the third seat after the nomination paper of Congress candidate Meenakshi Natarajan was rejected during scrutiny. The Congress has approached the Supreme Court challenging the rejection of Natarajan’s nomination.

The Returning Officer rejected her nomination based on allegations that she didn't metion details of a criminal case against her. The Congress has contested the decision and sought legal intervention.
