Metro Pillar Under Construction Collapses in Mumbai, Four Injured on LBS Road

Mumbai: A major accident occurred in Mulund, Mumbai, when a metro pillar under construction collapsed. The incident took place on LBS Road on Saturday at noon. The pillar fell onto an autorickshaw and a nearby car.
Four people who were traveling in the autorickshaw were injured and were immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The top portion of the metro pillar reportedly shook before collapsing. Cement slabs fell directly onto the passing autorickshaw, completely destroying it. A nearby car was also damaged in the incident.
The accident on the busy LBS Road caused traffic disruption and panic among commuters. Rescue operations were carried out by the fire brigade, police, and metro authorities.
The police are investigating whether construction defects were responsible for the collapse. Local residents have protested, alleging that the construction work was being carried out without necessary safety measures. There is also a strong demand to file a case against the metro authorities.
