M A Baby Urges Rahul Gandhi to Maintain Political Decorum While Criticising CPI(M)

Thrissur: CPI(M) General Secretary M A Baby said that Rahul Gandhi should maintain political decorum and dignity while criticising the CPI(M).
Speaking to reporters in Thrissur, Baby said that parties within the INDIA alliance often compete against one another in different states, but national-level leaders should exercise restraint and maintain standards while making political criticism.
Responding to allegations of an understanding between CPI(M) and the BJP, Baby said the accusation was baseless and claimed that no party had fought the BJP as consistently as CPI(M).
He also made a political remark saying that Rahul Gandhi may choose to embrace Prime Minister Narendra Modi but not Pinarayi Vijayan, adding that he was not suggesting Rahul Gandhi should embrace Pinarayi Vijayan and that affection and warmth must come naturally.
He further stated that Rahul Gandhi’s position had not been clear regarding the approach toward DMK during INDIA bloc discussions.
He argued that the Congress won five seats as part of the DMK-led alliance and also secured Rajya Sabha seat with support from the DMK. According to him, Congress had benefited from DMK’s support, consideration, and political cooperation.
He added that excessive desire for power does not reflect democratic political culture and claimed that CPI(M)’s support for TVK had been extended only after informing the DMK.
