New Delhi: Five Left Parties in India, CPI M, CPI, CPI (ML) Liberation, All India Forward Bloc, and Revolutionary Socialist Party, have jointly urged the Indian government to reject the US -offered position on the so-called ‘Board of Peace’ linked to the ‘Gaza Peace Plan’.
In a statement, the parties said India’s participation in the Board, which they claim undermines Palestinian rights, would be a “grave betrayal” of the Palestinian cause. They criticised the initiative for bypassing the United Nations and establishing a US-controlled international structure.
The Left Parties called on India to oppose US attempts to override global institutions and to stand in defence of Palestine and other Global South nations they say are threatened by US actions.
The statement was signed by MA Baby (CPI(M)), D Raja (CPI), Dipankar Bhattacharya (CPI-ML Liberation), G Devarajan (AIFB), and Manoj Bhattacharya (RSP).
