Kavinder Gupta Takes Oath as Governor of Himachal Pradesh

Shimla: Kavinder Gupta took charge as the Governor of Himachal Pradesh. The oath was administered by Himachal Pradesh High Court Chief Justice Gurmeet Singh Sandhawalia. Gupta is the former Governor of Ladakh.

He stated that the position of Governor is not affiliated with any political party and emphasised that his mission is to work towards the overall progress of the state and society. He made these remarks to the media after the ceremony held at Raj Bhavan.

The ceremony was attended by Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Kuldeep Singh Pathania, Leader of the Opposition Jai Ram Thakur, as well as several cabinet ministers, senior civil and police officials.
