New Delhi: A sexual harassment complaint has been filed against a teacher at JNU with at least 10 female students coming forward with allegations against him. The students alleged that the teacher approached them with sexual intentions. The university has launched an inquiry into the incident. The students had filed a complaint against the teacher with the university’s Internal Complaints Committee a month ago.
According to the students’ complaint, the teacher, who resides on the campus, would invite them to his home and touch and speak to them in a sexually suggestive manner. They also alleged that his behaviour was inappropriate even while taking classes.
Other students at the university have also come forward with similar allegations. Police said no case has been registered so far as they have not received a complaint. The teacher may face action after the university’s complaints committee completes its inquiry and submits its report.
