New Delhi: The Central Meteorological Department has issued a heat warning for three states in the country. The department has warned that temperatures are likely to rise up to 10 degrees above normal in Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Gujarat.

As part of the heatwave, a yellow alert has been issued for the districts of Kullu, Mandi, and Solan in Himachal Pradesh today. On Friday, the temperature in several parts of Himachal Pradesh exceeded 30°C. The heatwave warning for these regions will remain in effect from today until March 10.

Prolonged exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays can lead to sunstroke, skin diseases, eye problems, and other health issues. A UV index of 6 to 7 triggers a yellow alert, 8 to 10 triggers an orange alert, and a red alert is issued when the index exceeds 10.
