Delhi Red Fort Blast: Forensic Team Recovers Two Types of Explosives and Cartridges From Blast Site

New Delhi: A forensic science laboratory team investigating the Red Fort blast has collected over 40 samples, including two cartridges and two different types of explosives, from the site of the blast near Red Fort, that killed 12 people.


The samples found at the seen have been sent for further forensic examination. As per reports by news agencies, preliminary findings suggest that one of the samples appears to be ammonium nitrate. It is also reported that the investigation team has also collected traces of an unidentified explosive substance from the blast site. The officials stated that the exact composition of the second substance can only be confirmed after detailed forensic examination.


The explosion, which occurred on Monday evening near the Red Fort in New Delhi, has so far claimed 12 lives. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced compensation of 10 lakhs rupees each for the families of the deceased, 5 lakhs rupees for those who suffered complete disability, and 5 lakhs rupees for those who were seriously injured.
