ED Raids 14 Toll Plazas Across India in Toll Fraud Probe

New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate has conducted raids at 14 toll plazas across various states and Union Territories in the country. The searches are under way at toll plazas in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, New Delhi and West Bengal, as part of an investigation into toll fraud at National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) toll plazas.

The action is based on a case registered in 2025, with the probe focusing on toll collection irregularities and money laundering. Digital evidence of fake receipts being generated to collect toll outside official systems was found during the searches.

The ED said special software was used to generate the fake receipts, and that the investigation has been extended to more toll plazas.
