Sangh Parivar Workers, Police Mobilised to Suppress Protest; Heavy Security in Delhi

New Delhi: The central government is making extensive security arrangements to suppress the growing people's protest in Delhi against violations of democracy. In addition to the Delhi Police and central forces, Sangh Parivar workers and police personnel with criminal backgrounds are allegedly being brought to Delhi from outside to suppress peaceful protests.
A massive people's protest is scheduled to be held at Jantar Mantar on Saturday. Thousands of people from different parts of the country are expected to reach Delhi for the protest, which will bring together opposition parties and organisations from across India. The central government is adopting extreme measures to violently suppress the protesters.
An attempt is being made to bring large numbers of Sangh Parivar workers to Delhi and disrupt the protest through attacks. The government wants to use Hindutva organisations to provoke riots in Delhi, set citizens against one another and create widespread unrest and a situation resembling civil war in the country.
While preparations to unleash violence against protesters are reportedly intensifying, opposition organisations are preparing to hold the protest peacefully, anticipating such attempts.
In protests held in recent days, SFI secretary Adarsh M Saji and his team were attacked by Sangh Parivar workers. Police personnel present at the spot sided with the attackers.
It is the responsibility of the Delhi Police and other security forces to prevent those who arrive with the intention of deliberately creating riots. However, the country has witnessed the use of extreme force against citizens by those responsible for maintaining law and order during the Jantar Mantar protests and subsequent agitations. The use of lathis fitted with nails and electric lathis, and the alleged treatment of people in a manner similar to terrorists, poses a challenge to the democratic system. Even as the Centre is prepared with grenades, tear gas and lethal weapons, citizens are coming forward to protest at the risk of their own lives to restore transparency in the country's democratic system.
The Chief Election Commissioner is deceiving the people by acting in the interests of the ruling government. Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar facilitated the policies of the central government to help the BJP secure votes and denied the rights of lakhs of people by unfairly removing them from the electoral rolls. Even as India comes together against injustice, the central government has not provided clear answers regarding manipulation of voter lists and widespread deletion of names from the rolls. Instead, it is attempting to silence those who raise their voices and take retaliatory action against them. Why should a government be afraid of questions?
