New Delhi: Flight operations at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) were severely disrupted on Friday due to a technical glitch in the Air Traffic Control (ATC) system, leading to delays for over a hundred flights. Numerous passengers were left stranded as airlines issued guidance and assistance to manage the disruption. Airport authorities assured that efforts are underway to resolve the issue promptly.

Passengers were advised to stay in constant contact with their respective airlines, according to announcements on Delhi Airport’s official social media accounts. The precise cause of the ATC disruption has not been officially disclosed.

IndiGo and Air India operate the majority of flights from the airport, including several services to southern states such as Kerala. Both airlines urged travelers to check their flight status before heading to the airport.

Airport authorities confirmed that controllers are temporarily processing flight plans manually, which has contributed to delays. Technical teams are working to restore the system to normal operation as soon as possible.

The disruption has resulted in longer wait times at the airport and on board aircraft. Airlines assured passengers that ground and cabin staff are providing all possible support to minimize inconvenience.
