New Delhi: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has expressed support for Operation Sindoor, military operation carried out by the Indian armed forces targeting terrorist camps and infrastructure in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Pakistan.
In a statement released by the Polit Bureau, the CPI(M) noted that the strikes, conducted at nine locations, were described by the armed forces as "focused, measured and non-escalatory." The operation, according to officials, was aimed at dismantling the terror infrastructure responsible for repeated attacks on Indian soil.
The CPI(M) emphasized that the entire political spectrum had come together during the All Party Meeting convened by the Union Government, with all parties extending their support to the measures taken against terrorists and their handlers.
However, the party underlined that military responses must be accompanied by sustained diplomatic pressure. "Along with these actions, pressure should be continued on Pakistan to hand over those responsible for the massacre of innocent people in Pahalgam and to ensure that no terrorist camps operate from its territory," the statement said.
The CPI(M) also called upon the central government to prioritize national unity and uphold the country's integrity amid heightened tensions in the region.
