CJP Protest Enters Third Day at Jantar Mantar Over NEET Paper Leak, Education Minister's Resignation

New Delhi: The protest led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) at Jantar Mantar entered its third consecutive day on Monday, with demonstrators continuing their agitation over irregularities in national examinations and the NEET question paper leak reported in connection with the May 3 examination.

The sit-in, which began on Saturday, remained active overnight as participants stayed at the protest venue under continued police presence and security arrangements. Volunteers supporting the demonstration distributed food and drinking water among those gathered at the site.

CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke reiterated that the campaign would continue and appealed for broader public participation. He also called upon farmer organisations and supporters from different sections of society to join the movement in the coming days.

Sunday’s protest saw a mix of speeches, slogan-raising and cultural activities. Participants gathered in groups, performing with daflis, singing patriotic songs and expressing solidarity with students affected by the controversy. Organisers claimed that attendance crossed 200 people by the evening.

The organisation has placed several demands before the government, including the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over what it described as a failure of accountability in handling the NEET issue. CJP has also demanded compensation for families of students who died by suicide following the paper leak controversy and sought cancellation of the examination.

Protesters additionally raised concerns over facilities at the venue, alleging interruptions in water access to public restrooms. Organisers later said drinking water availability had been restored.

According to the organisers, the agitation will continue until their demands are addressed. Police personnel remain stationed around the area with barricades in place as a precaution. This is the second protest organised by the group at Jantar Mantar on issued related to the education system.
