Centre Summons CJP Founder Over Suspended X Account Amid Ongoing Protest

New Delhi: The central government has initiated action on a complaint over the suspension of the Cockroach Janta Party's official X (formerly Twitter) account, with the Union IT Ministry issuing a notice asking party founder Abhijeet Dipke to appear in person to explain the matter.

Dipke was directed to appear at Electronics Niketan in Delhi by noon on June 24 (today). The CJP's first X account had been suspended on May 21, and the IT Ministry's current action follows an official complaint filed by Dipke against that suspension.

CJP sources allege that the Centre's latest move comes even as Delhi Police attempts to clear the party's protest venue near Jantar Mantar.

Dipke had earlier complained that the delivery of drinking water and food to the protest site was being deliberately delayed, and that the absence of water in the toilets was causing severe hardship for protesters.

The party had staged a strong protest against the Union Education Minister just days earlier, organising the campaign demanding Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation against the backdrop of the NEET exam controversy.

The party, which has declared it will continue its agitation until the Union Education Minister resigns, has also written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The letter's key demand is compensation of Rs 1 crore each for the families of students who died by suicide following the NEET exam irregularities, and it also points to the loans parents had taken out for their children's education.
