CCTV Footage Emerges of Car Involved in Delhi Red Fort Blast

New Delhi: CCTV visuals of the car suspected to be involved in the Delhi Red Fort Blast has emerged. The visuals show a white Hyundai i20 car that exploded near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort, at the Subhash Marg traffic signal. The footage shows the car moving forward at the signal, with a man wearing a dark blue T-shirt seated in the driver’s seat.
The car was reportedly parked in a nearby parking area close to the Red Fort for almost three hours before the explosion. It arrived at 3:19 p.m. and left the spot at 6:48 p.m. The car exploded at 6:52 p.m. The footage appears to show only one person inside the vehicle, though initial reports had suggested there were multiple occupants at the time of the blast. Police are investigating whether anyone else entered the car during those hours.
The explosion killed nine people and injured more than 25 others, several of whom are in critical condition, and the death toll may rise further. Around 20 nearby vehicles caught fire as a result of the blast. The injured have been admitted to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Authorities have not yet issued any official statement regarding the nature or cause of the explosion.
