Centre Directs CBSE Schools to Organise Awareness Programmes on ‘Viksit Bharat’ , ‘Operation Sindoor’

New Delhi: The central government has directed CBSE-affiliated schools across the country to organise awareness programmes and celebratory activities on the themes “Viksit Bharat” and “Operation Sindoor.”

The directive is part of promotional campaigns aimed at achieving the goal of making India a developed nation by 2047. A circular in this regard has been issued to principals of CBSE schools.

According to the instructions, schools are required to conduct discussions during assemblies and in classrooms, along with essay writing, painting, and other competitions on these themes. Special sessions titled “Operation Sindoor” are to be held to familiarise students with India’s military strength and modern warfare strategies.

The Centre claims the objective is to instil patriotism among students and develop a vision for India’s future. Schools have also been asked to organise “Viksit Bharat Pledge” ceremonies.

The circular further directs schools to set up exhibitions to educate students and parents about various central government welfare schemes.

However, the move has sparked widespread criticism, with opponents alleging that educational institutions and students are being used for political propaganda.
