BJP Achieves Its Goal in Bihar

Nitish Kumar, Narendra Modi
New Delhi: In Bihar, the goal of BJP to corner Nitish Kumar and eliminate the JD(U) party, making BJP the dominant force, had been a major agenda for a long time. Now, this has practically come into view. After the elections in Bihar in November, BJP made various moves to ensure that Nitish Kumar did not become the Chief Minister.
To secure a simple majority and come to power, BJP was forced to keep JD(U) and Nitish Kumar on board at that time. It was a situation where they could not rule without them. In such a politically crucial scenario, BJP prepared to make Nitish the Chief Minister. However, their real aim was always to eventually push him out and take the position for themselves as soon as possible.
It was not easy to dismiss JD(U), which won 85 seats. Moreover, BJP could not afford to break ties with JD(U) in the central government so quickly. Therefore, BJP took its time, making strategic moves. Now, their goal has been achieved. Even when Nitish was appointed as Chief Minister, BJP was not willing to give him the Home Ministry. Instead, they gave it to Deputy CM Samrat Chowdhary, which was part of their pressure tactics. Now, Nitish is being gradually removed from the position of Chief Minister.
Following this, JD(U) has been facing significant challenges. BJP has weakened the party everywhere, and there were concerns about whether BJP would completely take control. However, some leaders believed that the arrival of Nishant could help avoid a leadership crisis in JD(U) and counter BJP's tactic of eliminating the party. There were also reports suggesting that BJP might try to remove Nitish due to health issues. This led to BJP intensifying their political maneuvers. Currently, JD(U) is heading towards a state of irrelevance, and there are rumors that BJP is responsible for Nitish's removal due to health reasons.
On the other hand, Nitish, who had always opposed dynastic politics, sparked curiosity by introducing his son into the party.. By giving his son a Deputy CM position, Nitish effectively removed himself from the political scene and brought his son into BJP’s fold. Now, the question that remains is whether Nitish's actions will lead to the disintegration of JD(U) as a movement, and whether this will mark a shift in Indian politics
