Patna: Bihar stands on the brink of a major political shift as counting for the 2025 Assembly elections begins tomorrow morning at 8 am. Early expectations and ground reports suggest growing momentum for the Mahagathbandhan, led by Tejashwi Yadav, which appears poised to challenge the long-standing rule of the Nitish Kumar-led NDA.

The two- phase polling, held on November 6 and 11, saw a remarkable 67 percent voter turnout, one of the highest in Bihar’s electoral history. Much of the surge was driven by younger voters and rural communities, many of whom expressed frustration over unemployment, inflation, and migration. The Mahagathbandhan’s campaign tapped directly into these concerns, centring its message on jobs, education, and a promise of “new governance for a new Bihar.”

While exit polls have offered mixed projections, many political observers believe the state’s mood has shifted decisively towards change. Tejashwi Yadav’s energetic campaign and focus on economic revival have resonated widely, particularly among first-time voters and those seeking an alternative to Nitish Kumar’s long tenure.

The Mahagathbandhan, enters counting day with renewed confidence, buoyed by strong booth-level performance and visible enthusiasm among party workers.

Counting will take place across all 38 districts under tight security. Early trends are expected by mid-morning, with final results anticipated by evening.
